Indonesia Urges BRICS to Boost Imports of Indonesian Products

Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, made his debut appearance at the BRICS Summit as the leader of a newly accepted full member country in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, highlighted the summit’s focus on enhancing international economic cooperation. The Leaders’ Declaration, a key outcome of the summit, emphasized strengthening multilateralism and reforming global governance. Of particular interest to Indonesia was the emphasis on promoting peace, security, international stability, and expanding market access for Indonesian products within the BRICS framework. Alongside the founding members of BRICS, the summit also welcomed newly admitted countries like Indonesia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates. This summit marks a significant step towards deeper collaboration and economic growth among emerging economies.
