President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to advancing the role of Indonesian scientists on the global stage was emphasized by Deputy for Dissemination and Media Affairs at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Noudhy Valdryno. The President envisions greater collaboration between Indonesian researchers and international scientists to illuminate Indonesia’s path towards becoming a developed nation. This collaboration is seen as vital in achieving the administration’s goal of 8 percent economic growth over the next five years. Scientists are urged to be more visible in the public sphere, as they are essential in driving national industrialization and human capital enhancement.
Aligned with the Asta Cita vision, particularly the pillar of strengthening human resource development, science, technology, education, health, sports achievement, gender equality, and empowerment, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) is hosting the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). This convention aims to bring together the nation’s top scientific minds to advance the country’s development.
The theme of KSTI 2025 is “Science and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity,” focusing on accelerating Indonesia’s transformation into a high-value-added industrial economy. The event has attracted over 2,000 scientists from various regions, highlighting the strategic importance of collaboration among academia, industry, government, media, and civil society. Minister Brian Yuliarto described KSTI as a key platform for researchers and academics, especially in STEM, to unite in advancing the nation’s scientific capabilities.
