Two young Pacu Jalur performers, Wirotirta and Aryana, couldn’t contain their wide smiles during the Independence Day celebrations at Merdeka Palace. The event marked Indonesia’s 80th anniversary, and the opportunity to perform before President Prabowo Subianto was a moment they will never forget. Dressed in vibrant green traditional Malay attire, the children captured the hearts of spectators with their synchronized and energetic movements, bringing regional culture pride to the national stage. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, adding to the festive atmosphere of the Independence Day celebration. Prior to their performance, a pencak silat troupe demonstrated their martial arts skills, followed by action star Iko Uwais showcasing the traditional Indonesian art of self-defense. The festivities concluded with the graceful Tari Payung Merah Putih (Red-and-White Umbrella Dance), enriching the celebratory spirit of Indonesia’s Independence Day. The children expressed their happiness and excitement about shaking hands with President Prabowo, emphasizing his kindness and offering well wishes for his health and abundance.
