Agus Joyo Sutono, a government teacher at SD Dua Jati Kulon in Jati District, Kudus Regency, has been in the teaching profession for over two decades. He recently shared his appreciation for the improvements in the distribution of the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) during President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Agus highlighted that the process of disbursing TPG has become faster, more accurate, and transparent, making it more convenient for teachers nationwide to receive their allowances.
Since he began teaching in 2003 and was officially appointed as a PPPK teacher in 2023, Agus considers his professional journey a pivotal moment in terms of recognition and motivation to enhance his teaching skills. While he has been receiving the TPG since 2011, it was only this year that he noticed a significant enhancement in the distribution system. Agus mentioned that the new method of direct central transfers to teachers’ accounts has simplified the process and improved efficiency.
For Agus, the TPG is not only a financial incentive but also a symbol of trust and government support for the teaching profession. He praised the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and President Prabowo for the innovative policy that has streamlined the distribution process. Besides supporting his family, Agus uses the TPG for his own educational pursuits, working towards a bachelor’s degree in primary school education.
In addition to personal use, Agus shows solidarity by assisting non-civil servant teaching staff and contributing to school activities with a portion of his TPG allowance. He believes that this new policy should be a long-term standard to support the welfare and professional growth of committed teachers. Agus is hopeful that the TPG will continue to benefit teachers and contribute to building a better Indonesia.
