by -72 Views

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is set to make his debut at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on April 11, racing in the CARS Late Model Stock Tour event. The announcement was made by Earnhardt himself during the latest episode of the Dale Jr Download podcast. Co-owning the CARS Tour with NASCAR figures like Kevin Harvick, Justin Marks, and Jeff Burton, Earnhardt’s participation adds to the prestige of the regional short track racing series. The event, now known as the Tootsie’s Music City Showdown thanks to the title sponsorship from Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge owner Steve Smith, will also feature a CARS Pro Late Model Tour race. The history of Fairgrounds Speedway dates back to NASCAR Cup Series races held from 1958 to 1984, followed by the O’Reilly Series and Craftsman Truck Series until 2000. The Speedway’s future remains uncertain, with possibilities ranging from revitalization including a potential Cup Series date to complete demolition. The decision rests with the local political process.
