Heim’s victory at Rockingham marked his second win in the Triple Truck Challenge, following his earlier triumph at Darlington. The race also saw impressive performances from Layne Riggs, Chandler Smith, and Stewart Friesen who rounded out the top five finishers. Grant Enfinger, Tyler Ankrum, Corey Lajoie, Ty Majeski, and Jake Garcia completed the top ten in a competitive field.
In the early stages of the race, Tanner Gray took the lead briefly before Heim made a bold move to pass both him and pole-sitter Jake Garcia. While Heim dominated the stages and maintained a strong lead throughout the race, other drivers faced challenges with pit road penalties and mechanical issues, affecting their positions.
As the race reached its climax, Heim faced a tire issue in the closing laps, allowing Honeycutt to gain ground and mount a serious challenge for the win. The teammates engaged in a thrilling battle, with Honeycutt almost overtaking Heim on the outside in the final moments of the race. However, Heim’s defensive driving and strategic moves ultimately secured his victory, crossing the finish line ahead of Honeycutt by a slim margin.
